COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — A railroad worker in Council Bluffs was taken to a hospital Monday night after a load of wood in a train car shifted, pinning one of his arms, a fire official said.
The man’s identity and his condition at the Creighton University Medical Center were not immediately available.
He was working in the rail yards near the 2100 block of 14th Avenue when his arm became wedged between the wood and the side of the train car, said Assistant Chief Matt Thomas of the Bluffs Fire Department.
Rescuers had to cut the lumber away to free the man, whose arm was severely injured, Thomas said.
