The BLET Education & Training Department will conduct comprehensive training classes for Local Chairmen and Secretary-Treasurers during September at the BLET National Division Headquarters in Independence, Ohio. Both classes will be offered in a hybrid format, allowing members to participate either in person or remotely via Zoom.
The Local Chairman training class will be held September 21-22, 2026, and is open to Local Chairmen and Vice Local Chairmen with their respective Local Chairman’s consent. The class is designed to help Local Chairmen develop and strengthen the skills necessary to provide the highest level of representation for their members.
The Secretary-Treasurer training class will be held September 23-24, 2026, with an optional half-day workshop on Friday, September 25, for one-on-one assistance, discussion of specific issues, and general questions and answers. The class is open to Local Division, General Committee of Adjustment, and State Legislative Board Secretary-Treasurers and covers a wide range of financial, reporting, and administrative responsibilities.
Members attending either class in person will be eligible for the special BLET hotel rate of $122.00 per night and may qualify for a $110.00 per day stipend provided by the North American Railway Foundation (NARF).
