The BLET has reached a tentative eight-year agreement with the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway (CPKC). The tentative deal covers 1,200 members who work at former territories that are now a part of the consolidated CPKC, including Kansas City Southern Railway, Mid-South Rail Corporation, Tex-Mex Railway, CPKC Consolidated Territory and Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern.
If ratified by the members, the hourly-rate agreement would provide significant wage enhancements over the life of the contract (2025-2033), continuous pay when held away from home terminal after 16 hours, and improvements to numerous other provisions. Importantly, there are no changes to member health and welfare benefits. More specific details regarding the tentative agreement will be discussed with members at an upcoming series of in-person Town Hall meetings and virtual video/Zoom conferences hosted by the involved General Committees of Adjustment (GCA).
The negotiating team consisted of General Chairmen David Spradlin (KCS), Nick Mugavero (DM&E), Billy Evans (MidSouth, CPKC Consolidated Territory), Lance Fisher (Tex-Mex), and National Vice President Randy Fannon.
Note to CPKC members: Ballots are due by Thursday, May 21.
