B.J. Trumble was reelected Chairman of the BLET’s Michigan State Legislative Board (SLB) at its Sixth Quadrennial meeting in Battle Creek, Mich., on March 24. The Michigan SLB represents more than 800 active and retired members from 11 different BLET Divisions.
Making presentations on behalf of the BLET National Division were First Vice President Gary Best and National Secretary-Treasurer David Estes. Brother Best reviewed major legislative efforts underway at the national level, the recently ratified national agreement, and also discussed the latest information regarding the Union Pacific-Norfolk Southern merger. Brother Estes presented his report on BLET finances and membership figures.
BLET State Legislative Board Chairmen Shane Hubbard (Indiana), Chuck Schulz (Wisconsin) and John Esterly (Ohio) presented and taught a Legislative Representative class for the delegates in attendance.
Also elected were: 1st Vice Chairman Christopher Smith, Division 920 (Pontiac, Mich.); 2nd Vice Chairman Rob Majchszak, Division 850 (Flat Rock Mich.); Secretary-Treasurer Bryan Marenger, Division 185 (Gladstone, Mich.); and Alternate Secretary-Treasurer Dominic DeSanto, Division 1 (Detroit, Mich.). Trustees elected during the meeting were: Jason Carrier, Division 122 (Port Huron, Mich.); Edward Donnelly, Division 542 (Detroit, Mich.); and Rob Majchszak, Division 850 (Flat Rock, Mich.).
