OMAHA — Union Pacific Corp. will eliminate 201 mechanical repair jobs at its North Little Rock, Ark., locomotive repair shops by Monday, the Omaha World-Herald reports.
Spokesman John Bromley said about 900 mechanical repair jobs remain at the shops. He said fewer overhauls and major repairs were being made to the locomotives because the company was buying new ones.
Bromley said the company has no current plans to cut repair jobs in Nebraska or Iowa.
