FRA Certification Helpline: (216) 694-0240

Operating employees at the Northern Ohio & Western Railway (NOW) voted to join the BLET in an election certified by the National Mediation Board on June 16. It marks the union’s 16th short line organizing win since 2023.

NOW is an OmniTRAX-owned short line that operates over 25 miles of track between Woodville and Tiffin, Ohio, providing its customers with access to Class I railroads CSXT and Norfolk Southern.

BLET National Vice President James Logan, who heads the BLET Organizing Department, said the NOW workers sought BLET representation to help secure wage improvements, a seniority roster, and discipline protection. Logan welcomed the NOW members into the Brotherhood and said work will begin immediately to appoint a Grievance Committee and to negotiate an agreement.

Logan led the organizing drive with assistance from BLET Director of Short Lines Luke Myers and Special Representatives Jorge Gomez and Brian Terpening.
